Vol. 427 No. 6

Written Answers. - Administration of Justice.

Tony Gregory

Ceist:

67 Mr. Gregory asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs if he will make representations to the British authorities on behalf of prisoners (details supplied) in the North of Ireland who, their solicitors maintain, are victims of a miscarriage of justice.

On the basis of the information provided by the Deputy it would appear that this is a matter which should in the first instance be pursued through the appeal process by the legal representatives of the persons concerned. The British authorities are, of course, well aware of the importance we attach to ensuring that the system for the administration of justice operates in a fair and equitable manner.
