79 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Finance the present position on the offer from a sports club (details suppled) in Dublin 9 to purchase a site which is the property of the Office of Public Works; if the offer is acceptable; and when negotiations will be completed.
The site has been the subject of negotiations between the club and the Commissioners of Public Works on the basis that it was surplus to the requirements of the Public Service. A possibility has recently arisen that it may not be surplus. The proposed Public Service use of the site is being urgently investigated. Pending the outcome of the investigation, it is not possible to conclude negotiations with the club.
