108 Mr. J. Mitchell asked the Minister for Justice if her attention has been drawn to the case of a person (details supplied) who is now said to be diagnosed as HIV positive; whether this prisoner's request for an early release on health grounds is being considered; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I am aware of the case. While I am reluctant to comment on individual cases I should say that temporary release is not at present being considered for this prisoner. A prisoner's state of health is only one of a number of factors taken into account in deciding on temporary release.
