40 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Finance the total income from the national lottery in the years 1992 and 1993; and the percentage of the income allocated to each area such as health and sport.
I intend to take Questions Nos. 19 and 40 together.
In 1992 expenditure on national lottery funded programmes was £100.149 million. In the 1993 Abridged Estimates Volume the Government set out lottery allocations of £88 million. Details of these expenditure proposals can be found under the relevant subheads of each Department's Vote in the Abridged Estimates Volume. There is also a summary in Appendix I of the Volume setting out all lottery funded programmes. There will be a small number of adjustments to these figures which will be reflected in the forthcoming Revised Estimates Volume.
Spending Departments are responsible for the disbursement of their funds. The sectoral allocation of lottery funds for 1992 and 1993 is as follows:
