127 Ms McManus asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to the concern that has been expressed at the proposal to expand the national primary route through Kilmacanogue village in County Wicklow and the additional disruption of woods at the Glen of the Downs; if he intends to proceed with this plan; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
In reaching a decision as to the acceptability of this scheme on environmental grounds, I will give due consideration to the submissions and observations which I have received arising from the environmental impact statement, and to the supplementary environmental information prepared by the county council at my Department's request. In view of my quasi-judicial role in the matter, it would not be appropriate for me to comment further about the scheme at this stage.
