Vol. 428 No. 5

Written Answers. - Cork Rail Services.

John Mulvihill

Ceist:

195 Mr. Mulvihill asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications if he intends to replace and upgrade the existing rolling stock on the Cork to Cobh rail service; if so, when; if he will restore a full service on the line; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

John Mulvihill

Ceist:

196 Mr. Mulvihill asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications if he intends to reopen the Cork to Youghal rail service; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 195 and 196 together. The re-opening and upgrading of rail lines and the provision of rolling stock on any particular line of the mainline and commuter rail network are matters falling within the day to day administration of Iarnród Éireann. Accordingly I have no function in these matters.
