Ceist:50 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Justice the progress, if any, which is being made with the recovery of the stolen pictures from the Beit collection.
Written Answers. - Recovery of Beit Collection Paintings.
Two of the paintings stolen from the Beit collection — the Dominican Monk by Reubens and the Music Party by Antoine Palamadesy — were recovered on 18 March 1993 in London by the UK Police. I would like to take this opportunity to commend the officers concerned on the excellent police work which led to the recovery of these paintings.
I am informed by the Garda authorities that their investigations in this case are continuing and that all new information coming to hand is actively pursued.
