62 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Finance the current status of the seven sub regional review groups in the context of the National Development Plan; and if he will make a statement on the matter regarding the progress, if any, which has been achieved to date.
In May 1992 the Sub-Regional Review Committees were invited to make submissions on their views on the content and strategy of the National Plan in the next round of Structural Fund as it affected the sub-regions. The proposals made by the Sub-Regional Review Committees are being fully considered in the context of drawing up the National Development Plan which it is hoped will be ready for submission to the EC Commission at the end of May. In addition, the Minister of State at the Department of Finance with particular responsibility for the preparation of the plan has attended meetings of each of the committees for comprehensive discussions on their proposals.
