94 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Justice the reason a person (details supplied) in County Galway has been informed of his deportation pending requirements from the Aliens Office; if she will have this matter investigated as a matter of urgency; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
I am informed by the Garda authorities that a request for renewal of permission for the person concerned to reside in the State is being examined in the normal way. Any extension of such permission will be considered in accordance with the relevant legal provisions. The question of deportation has not arisen in this case.
