243 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht whether he has examined proposals to upgrade the Transport Museum in Howth, County Dublin; whether financial assistance would be forthcoming for such a project; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
I have no statutory responsibility for the Howth Transport Museum, which operates under the auspices of the Transport Museum Society of Ireland. I recently received an application for funding from the Society and my Department will be responding to that request at an early date. I should point out, however, that I have no discretionary funds available in the current year to assist this type of project.
