325 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education if, in respect of her Department or of her Ministers of State, she will give the names of any persons or agents, other than the established Civil Service, appointed to any position within the ambit of her Department since 10 February 1993; if she will give their job descriptions, terms of employment and salary scale; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
In addition to the appointments which I detailed in replies to Questions 518 (taken on 10th February, 1993) and 309 (taken on 9th March, 1993), I have authorised the appointment of ten temporary porters in my Department's Examinations Branch in Athlone. The basic rate for these seasonal posts is £131.26 per week, plus overtime.
Since the previous questions referred to above, a contract of employment has been signed in respect of my Dáil Secretary. The rate of pay for this post is £162.28 per week plus an allowance of £15.38 per week. Contracts in respect of the other posts are currently being finalised in line with standard practice and Government guidelines.
For further information in the matter, I would direct the Deputy to Questions 332 (taken on 23rd February, 1993), 114 (taken on 11th March, 1992) and 265 (taken on 11th March, 1993).

The following appointments have been made since 10 February last.

Governing Body, Regional Technical College, Waterford: Ms Frances Ryan.

Board of Youth Exchange Bureau: Mr. George Rowley.
