Ceist:23 Mr. M. McDowell asked the Minister for Finance whether the Government proposes to undertake any additional asset disposals for the remainder of the current budget year.

The recent sales of shareholdings in Irish Life plc and Greencore plc will realise over £170 million for the Exchequer, which is £20 million above the target figure mentioned by me in my budget speech on 24 February.
While it is my intention to keep the general prospects for appropriate further asset disposals under review, there are no plans at present to pursue any particular option in that regard.
