Vol. 430 No. 6

Written Answers. - Medical Treatment.

Chris Flood

Ceist:

90 Mr. Flood asked the Minister for Health if he will make a statement on the manner in which medical treatment was provided to a person (details supplied) in view of the concerns expressed of the patient's parents who feel that the treatment provided was deficient.

The medical treatment of a patient in hospital is a private matter between the patient and the consultant concerned. Should parents be concerned about the treatment provided to their child they should discuss the matter directly with the consultant in the first instance. Alternatively, they could contact the patient services officer at the hospital who would be happy to discuss and clarify the position with them.
