148 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Education if, in view of her reply to Parliamentary Question No. 101 on 25 March 1993, the numerous written requests and the telephone calls to her Department, she will now give a reply in respect of the three grant applicants concerned.
I wish to clarify that my reply to Parliamenary Question No. 101 on 25 March last referred to the position with regard to the first and third persons identified by the Deputy. I regret that the position in relation to the second person identified was inadvertently omitted from that reply.
In the second case, I understand from the City of Dublin Vocational Education Committee, the body entrusted with the administration of the vocational education committee Scholarship Scheme in this case, that the person in question is ineligible for grant aid because he did not obtain the prescribed grades in the Leaving Certificate Examination.
