Ceist:67 Mr. Shatter asked the Minister for Justice the number of building society robberies in the county and city of Dublin in the years 1991 and 1992 and to date in 1993.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 65, 66 and 67 together.
The information which is readily available relates to the Dublin Metropolitan Area. In 1991 there were 17 robberies from post offices, 13 from building societies and 21 from banks. Provisional figures for 1992 indicate an increase in robberies from post offices and building societies and a decrease in bank robberies. Final figures will be contained in the Garda Commissioners Annual Report for 1992, which is due to be published in the near future. Figures for 1993 are not yet available.
