Ceist:79 Mr. B. Fitzgerald asked the Minister for the Environment when he proposes to sanction the changing of the town name Ceanannas Mór in County Meath to Kells; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Under section 76 of the Local Government Act, 1946, the proposal by the Urban District Council of Ceanannus Mór to change the name of the urban district to Kells is subject to the approval of the Government. The council's proposal is being processed and a decision will be made in the matter as soon as possible.
