Vol. 433 No. 2

Written Answers. - County Enterprise Boards.

Brendan Kenneally

Ceist:

67 Mr. Kenneally asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the number of county enterprise partnership boards there will be in County Waterford; the persons who have been consulted about the composition of the boards; the number of people that will be on the boards and the organisations they will represent; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

It is proposed to establish two county enterprise boards in Waterford — one in Waterford City and one in Waterford County.

I contacted the county and city managers last month requesting them to undertake the task of nominating the panel of members for each of the new boards to be established in their respective county and city areas.

The Boards will comprise twelve members including up to four elected members of the local authority, representatives of the social partners at local level identified by the relevant national organisations, and officers of relevant State agencies together with community interests drawn from the voluntary sector.
