Ceist:125 Ms F. Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Education if the post of Youth Arts Officer in the National Youth Council of Ireland will be funded by the Government after the present sponsorship ends.

My Department is at present considering a proposal for the joint funding by the Arts Council and my Department of the post in question. The Department will be having discussions shortly with the Arts Council in the matter.
A final decision will be taken on the issue in the context of the financial provision for the youth work services in 1994 and the competing demands for funding from the provision.
