Vol. 435 No. 6

Ceisteanna — Questions Written Answers. - Limerick Municipal School of Music.

Michael Noonan

Ceist:

124 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the excellent work carried out by the Municipal School of Music in Limerick; if her attention has been further drawn to the fact that, even though the school is highly regarded in the region, it lacks official recognition; if she will give official recognition to the school; and if not, the reasons for refusing to do so.

I am aware of the work being carried out by the Municipal School of Music in Limerick.

My Department is considering a proposal submitted by the City of Limerick Vocational Education Committee that the school be granted a second level type staffing structure and will be in communication with the vocational education committee on the matter as soon as possible.
