37 Mr. Barry asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment when the study involving the feasibility of replacing the current system of insurance premiums for third party liability motor insurance by means of a levy on motor fuels will be completed; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have engaged a firm of consultants to study the feasibility of replacing the current system of paying insurance premiums for third party liability motor insurance by means of a levy on motor fuels. I expect this study to be completed by the end of the year.
