Ceisteanna — Questions Written Answers. - County Cork Road Scheme.

Peter Barry

Ceist:

51 Mr. Barry asked the Minister for the Environment when in 1994 the Mulcon Valley Road from Rochestown to Carrigaline will be open to traffic; and if he will make a statement on the progress made to date.

Cork County Council, which is implementing this project, expects the road to open to traffic towards the end of 1994. The section from the Rochestown road to Maryborough Hill has been completed. Work on the construction of Maryborough Hill bridge is at an advanced stage and is expected to be complete by February next. Earthworks are currently in progress on the section from Maryborough Hill to Carr's Hill while work on the bridge at Carr's Hill and Rochestown Road is expected to commence by mid 1994. The overall estimated cost of the scheme is £6.5 million.
