Ceist:174 Mr. Broughan asked the Minister for the Environment when the new system of expenses payments for the members of Dublin Corporation will be completed and published.
Written Answers. - Dublin Corporation Members' Expenses.
Following consultations with councillors' associations on proposals for a new system of expenses payments for local authority members generally, regulations to be made under section 51 of the Local Government Act, 1991 are being prepared for this purpose. This work is now at an advanced stage. I expect to make the regulations in time to allow the new system to come into operation on 1 January 1994.
