Vol. 435 No. 9

Written Answers. - County Tipperary Water/Sewerage Schemes.

Theresa Ahearn

Ceist:

175 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received an application for funding for a water scheme in Hollyford, County Tipperary; if so, when this application will be approved; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

An application for this scheme has been received. However, group water scheme grants and contributions from group members are unlikely to suffice for its financing, which in consequence may require a substantial contribution from the provision for public water and sanitary services schemes. Having regard to the overall demand on that provision, I cannot say when it may be possible to approve this scheme.

Theresa Ahearn

Ceist:

176 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for the Environment the name and number of applications for water schemes that have been received in his Department from Tipperary South Riding County Council; if funding will be provided for these schemes; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Details of current water scheme proposals from Tipperary South Riding County Council now with my Department are set out in the following table.

The question of funding for these schemes is being examined in the context of the post-1993 operational programme for environmental services.
