Ceist:49 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Justice if she has any plans to involve the private sector in the provision of prisons or places of detention.
Written Answers. - Provision of Prison Accommodation.
Private sector funding of the provision of prison accommodation is an option which my Department is prepared to consider. I would emphasise, however, that any such option is distinct from the matter of private sector involvement in the actual operation of the prison institutions.
