Vol. 436 No. 4

Written Answers. - Knocknagoshel (Kerry) School.

Jimmy Deenihan

Ceist:

227 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Education if she will provide the necessary funding to provide new toilets at Knocknagoshel national school, County Kerry.

My Department sanctioned a grant for the provision of new toilets at Knocknagoshel national school in 1992. This project did not go ahead as the school authorities requested the provision of a library-medical room in addition to the toilet project. The revised proposal is being examined by my Department and if agreed will necessitate changes in the prepared plans and will require new planning permission and fire certificates. In order to alleviate the present problem, my Department has advised the school authorities to rent or purchase portable toilets as an interim measure pending the building of the extension.
