The bulk of hazardous waste arisings in Ireland are recycled or otherwise recovered. A significant quantity of hazadous wastes are incinerated on site by a small number of plants; hazardous wastes are also disposed of in Ireland by landfill and physico-chemical treatment. Hazardous waste is also exported from Ireland for incineration, recycling and physico-chemical treatment.
