Ceist:67 Mr. Leonard asked the Taoiseach the percentage of bovine animal hides which were exported unprocessed for the last accounting year for which records are available.
Written Answers. - Export of Bovine Hides.
The information requested by the Deputy is not available. Export figures for 1992 show that 60,997 tonnes of bovine hides were exported, with a value of £54 million.
In general it should be noted that commodity detail from external trade statistics does not include: (a) transactions (non-dutiable) of less than £200 for 1992; (b) trade by firms operating in Shannon Free Airport and (c) postal packages not covered by customs entries.
