248 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Education the number of students from the Republic attending third level educational institutes in Northern Ireland; the colleges being attended; and the number in receipt of education maintenance grants.

249 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Education the number of students from the Republic attending third level courses in Northern Ireland who did not qualify for maintenance grants due to non-recognition of the course attended.

In general, the detailed information requested by the Deputy is not available in my Department.
The following Northern Ireland colleges currently have approved courses for the purposes of student maintenance grants under my Department's third level student support system: Queen's University, Belfast; University of Ulster, Coleraine; North West College of Technology, Derry; Newry College of Further Education; Belfast Institute of Further and Higher Education; St. Mary's College of Education and Stranmillis College of Education, Belfast.
