152 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Education if she will approve the application for an ex-quota remedial teacher from St. Mary's Holy Faith Secondary School, Glasnevin, Dublin 9, in view of the number of pupils with reading and learning difficulties; and if she will give a list of the other schools in the area or deanery specifying if they have an ex-quota remedial teacher.
A figure of 252 ex-quota remedial posts have been allocated to post-primary schools in the current school year. I am glad to inform the Deputy that provision has been made for the allocation of an additional 25 ex-quota remedial posts to post-primary schools in the 1994-95 school year. The position of this school will be considered when the additional posts are being allocated.
I have arranged to have a copy of the list of post-primary schools in the Dublin area forwarded to the Deputy. It would not be in accordance with the normal practice of my Department to disclose details of the teacher allocation to individual post-primary schools.
