106 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Social Welfare the projected cost of salaries, allowances and other such payments for the offices of programme managers/special advisers/ministerial assistants and other such offices under his aegis as at January 1993; the outturn for the year ending 31 December 1993; the projected expenditure under this heading in 1994; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The outturn in 1993 of salaries, allowances and other such payments for the offices of programme manager, special advisers, ministerial assistants and other such offices, including those of the Minister of State in my Department, was £145,120. This outturn compared with an end January 1993 estimate of £151,814.
The projected expenditure in 1994 has been estimated at £160,261. These figures include the cost of serving civil servants, including my programme manager and special adviser.
