Ceist:211 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will be paid the 1993 suckler cow grant; and the amount due to him.

The person named did not lodge an area aid application form in 1993 as required under the EU regulations and as a result it has not been possible to process his suckler cow application for that year. However, under the terms of a recent EU decision, it may be permissible to pay premium on up to 15 livestock units under the 1993 suckler cow and special beef premium schemes to applicants who did not submit area aid applications in 1993. My Department is examining this case in the light of the EU decision.
