110 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for the Environment the proposals which Kerry County Council have put forward to his Department for funding for road works on the Abbeyfeale/Listowel Road; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Last September, Kerry County Council submitted a roads development plan covering the period to the end of the decade to my Department. The Abbeyfeale-Listowel road was included in a list of regional and local roads considered to warrant attention. However, no specific proposals for the road have been submitted by the Council.
The position regarding the allocation of grants for the maintenance and improvement of non-national roads is set out in the reply to Questions Nos. 327 and 339 of 26 January, 1994. Details of the scheme of specific grants referred to were issued to the local authorities on 4 February, 1994.
