112 Mr. E. Kenny asked the Minister for Education if all boards of management in primary schools have been ratified; if not, the way in which boards of management are to recommend personnel for appointment; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
The current school-year, 1993-94, is one designated for election of boards of management, which occurs every three years. My Department ratifies the appointments as details of the new boards are furnished by school patrons. This work is ongoing and is expected to be completed at an early date. The patron is responsible for initiating the steps necessary for the establishment of a board of management in primary schools.
