109 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the steps, if any, he intends to take to alleviate the hardship caused to tillage farmers by the constant rain resulting in winter crops being totally ruined; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Losses due to unfavourable weather conditions must be regarded as a normal commercial risk associated in particular with the production of winter sown crops. Accordingly, I have no proposals to take any action in the matter.
