243 Mr. E. Kenny asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform the usage of the Government jet by him and his official party in respect of St. Patrick's day assignments; the travel arrangements where the Government jet was not used; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
I did not have use of the Government jet in relation to my participation in the St. Patrick's Day celebrations. I was not accompanied by any officials or advisers.
As indicated in replies to previous questions on 9 and 23 March 1994, I had already arranged to be in the United States, on a private visit, over the St. Patrick's Day period. I acceded to a request to represent the Government at the St. Patrick's Day celebrations in Chicago. Travel from New York to Chicago for that purpose was on an internal commercial flight.
