Ceist:242 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the total Government expenditure on regional airports and their promotion; and the amount spent in counties Cavan and Monaghan.
Written Answers. - Regional Airport Expenditure.
Government expenditure on the infrastructure of the six regional airports (Carrickfin, Connaught, Faranfore, Galway, Sligo, Waterford) totals £14.2 million.
In 1993 a provision of £1.5 million was made as an exceptional matter for the promotion of the regional airports of which £1.2 million has been paid to date.
As there is no regional airport in Cavan or Monaghan, no expenditure has been incurred in these counties.
