110 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Defence if the sale of the site of the former married quarters at Arbour Hill, Dublin 7, to a builder/developer has been completed; and if he will convey to the developer the need to secure and redevelop the site in view of the fact that it is a source of vandalism and criminal activity of concern to local residents.
Agreement has been reached by the Department for the sale of an area of one acre or thereabouts at Arbour Hill and the entrance roadway to the area. Contracts of sale have been furnished to the purchaser's solicitors and their return is awaited. The area formed part of a bigger area and it is understood that planning permission for the development of the entire site containing in all about five acres has been granted by Dublin Corporation. I have arranged to have the problem referred to in the question brought to the attention of the developer.
