Vol. 441 No. 1

Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given to me under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Quill — if it is intended to strengthen existing controls or introduce new controls to deal with the scourge of video nasties; (2) Deputy Dermot Ahern — the increased security cordon around Crossmaglen, County Armagh; (3) Deputies Allen, Barry and Liam Burke — the urgent need to address the increasing problems of Irish Steel in view of the deadline of 23 June 1994, set by the Minister for Enterprise and Employment; (4) Deputy Crowley — the need to assign additional staff to the Land Registry to alleviate major delays in the transfer of property which are causing problems in both the commercial and private sectors; (5) Deputies Doyle and Byrne — the recognition of the maritime boundaries of Country Wexford and the corresponding area of south-west Wales for the purpose of INTERREG II; (6) Deputy Bradford — the failure to appoint a student representative to the governing body of University College, Cork; and the need to immediately rectify the situation. The matters raised by the following Deputies have been selected by me for discussion: Deputies Dermot Ahern, Doyle and Byrne, Quill and Bradford.
