Vol. 441 No. 1

Written Answers. - Closed Border Roads.

Edward Nealon

Ceist:

46 Mr. Nealon asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs the number of closed border roads in each of the counties Donegal, Leitrim, Cavan, Monaghan and Louth; and the number of these roads closed by the planned demolition of bridges.

The programme of road closures undertaken by the British authorities has resulted in a number of cross-Border roads being closed.

According to the information available, the number of roads adjoining the respective counties mentioned by the Deputy which are closed to normal vehicular traffic are as follows: County Donegal, 63; Leitrim, 6; Cavan, 7; Monaghan, 36 and County Louth, 0.

It is understood that some 37 bridges have been demolished.
