Under section 34 of the Finance Bill, 1994 orders will be made by myself, in consultation with the Minister for the Environment which will direct that certain areas or streets described in the orders shall be designated for the purpose of the urban renewal tax incentives contained in Chapter IV of the Bill.
Orders made under this section will be laid before Dáil Éireann as soon as may be after they are made. If a resolution annulling the order is passed by Dáil Éireann within the next 21 days on which Dáil Éireann has sat after the order is laid before it, the order shall be annulled accordingly, but without prejudice to the validity of anything previously done thereunder.
With regard to the question of designation of areas or streets in respect of the new urban renewal scheme, the necessary order or orders will be made by the Minister for the Environment with my approval under section 6 of the Urban Renewal Act, 1986.
