Ceist:43 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Finance, in respect of the seed capital scheme introduced in 1993, the number of individuals who availed of this scheme; the number of projects; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Written Answers. - Seed Capital Scheme.
I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that refunds under the seed capital scheme have been issued to fifteen individuals in respect of investments in 12 separate companies. Applications in relation to a further 12 companies involving investments by 16 individuals which have been certified by an industrial development agency or Bord Fáilte have been received by the Revenue Commissioners and are currently being processed.
Certificates have been issued by industrial development agencies or an Bord Fáilte in respect of a further 19 projects. As claims for tax refunds in respect of these have not been submitted to the Revenue Commissioners, it is not possible to state how many individuals are availing of the scheme.
