160 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason for the delay in issuing approval for the transfer of suckler quotas; when arrangements will be made therefor; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The processing of suckler cow quota transfers was delayed in recent weeks because priority was given to the issue of payments under various headage and premium schemes.
The processing of 1993 quota transfers has now commenced and it is expected that all transfers and transferees will be notified within the next three weeks.
The processing of 1994 quota transfers will commence as soon as possible after that.
