Vol. 442 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Edward Nealon

Ceist:

167 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Sligo will be paid the remaining percentage of his 1993 headage and all his beef premium.

The person named has already been paid full grants under the 1993 cattle and equines headage and January-February 1993 special beef premium schemes. His application for grants under the 1993 suckler cow premium scheme is being processed further at present and any balance due will be paid shortly.

He has been deemed ineligible for grants under the June 1993 10 and 22 month special beef premium schemes as the animals on which he applied for premium were not the required ages at date of application.

Ceist:

168 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when the remaining percentage of suckler cow grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Sligo.

The person named was paid an advance of £189.82 in respect of four cows under the 1993 suckler cow premium scheme. The balance due will be paid within the next week. He applied for premium on 5 suckler cows in 1993 but has only established quota rights to 4 cows. If he obtains or is allocated a quota for a fifth cow payment on that animal will be considered.

Ceist:

169 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if his attention has been drawn to the fact that despite an undertaking given in response to a parliamentary question that a person (details supplied) in County Sligo would be paid his 1993 headage and suckler cow grants shortly that this person has still not received any of these grants; and if he will ensure that moneys are paid out immediately.

The person named was paid his entire 1993 cattle headage grant on 28 April 1994. His application under the 1993 suckler cow premium scheme is being processed at present and any payment due will be made in the very near future.

Avril Doyle

170 Mrs. Doyle asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry whether equines are included for stocking rate purposes when calculating headage payments.
