Ceist:190 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Health the average delay in the provision of dental services for applicants with medical cards.
Written Answers. - Dental Service Delays.
The health boards are statutorily responsible for the provision of dental services to medical card holders and I have asked each health board to reply directly to you with the information requested.
I propose to initiate the first phase of a major development of the dental services this year, including the phased introduction of an improved service for eligible adults. My Department is advanced in its discussion with the relevant parties, including the Health boards and the Irish Dental Association, towards achieving this objective.
