Ceist:194 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Health the number of EEC, EC and EU directives which have come to his Department since Ireland joined the European Community.

While a considerable number of directives have been implemented by my Department, their formal adoption in the Council of Ministers have been by Ministers other than Ministers for Health. Accordingly, the totals supplied to the Deputy by other Ministers should comprehend the measures which my Department has had to implement. Should the Deputy wish to have information on any specific aspect of the health services which has been the subject of a directive, perhaps he would contact me and I will be pleased to provide the relevant information.
