Written Answers. - Capital Grants Refund.

Ceist:

205 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Education in view of replies to Parliamentary Questions Nos. 66 of 14 October 1992 and No. 169 of 17 November 1993 the reason the additional imformation regarding the refund of capital grants arising from the sale of primary schools, which was promised to Deputy Gilmore was not supplied; if she will now provide this information; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Minister for Education (Ms Bhreathnach):

A total amount of £68,124 was received in the period in question in respect of refund of capital grants on closed national schools. This figure relates to all schools, irrespective of date of closure, in respect of which refunds were obtained in the years in question. A breakdown by year in respect of schools which closed in this period is being finalised and I will be in touch with the Deputy in this regard in the near future.
