Ceist:89 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Education the reason for the delay in the sanctioning of a fourth special teacher for a special school (details supplied) in Dublin 22.
Vol. 443 No. 2
89 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Education the reason for the delay in the sanctioning of a fourth special teacher for a special school (details supplied) in Dublin 22.
The school to which the Deputy refers is an ordinary national school which now has two special classes for children with mild mental handicap.
One of these classes was, until recently, shared with an adjacent school. The second special class has been approved by my Department in recent weeks.
The above arrangements were put in place without delay and I am not aware of any request for further special posts from the school in question.
