Vol. 443 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Edward Nealon

Ceist:

66 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when the remainder of headage and suckle cow grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Sligo.

The person named has already been paid the grants due to him under the 1993 cattle headage scheme. An advance of £759.60 issued to him on 7 December 1993 and the balance of £506.40 issued on 24 May 1994. He applied for premium on ten cows under the 1992 suckler cow premium scheme for small-scale milk producers. At an inspection of his herd on 15 September 1992 it transpired that he had only seven suckler cows which could be considered eligible. As a result of this and in accordance with EU regulations, the person named is not entitled to any payment under the 1992 or 1993 suckler cow schemes.

Ceist:

67 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when headage and suckler cow grants will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Sligo.

The applications of the person named for grants under the 1993 cattle headage and 1993 suckler cow premium schemes are being processed and any payment due will issue in the near future. The delay in this case arose because of a problem with his area aid application.
