Vol. 443 No. 6

Written Answers. - New School Proposals.

Paul Bradford

Ceist:

68 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Education if she has received an application for the provision of a new school building from a school (details supplied) in County Cork; and if her Department's architect will inspect the proposed sites at the earliest possible opportunity.

My Department has received an application for the provision of a new school building from the school referred to by the Deputy. This application is being considered in the context of the overall school accommodation in the area. The availability of suitable sites, should a new school be required, will also be taken into consideration.

Patrick D. Harte

Ceist:

69 Mr. Harte asked the Minister for Education if she has received all relevant documentation required by her Department in connection with the building of a new school at Kerrykeel, County Donegal; and when sanction for this work will be granted.

The building project for the proposed new Kerrykeel national school is included in the 1994 primary buildings capital programme. Advertisements are being placed in the national and local press for the pre-qualification of suitable contractors and sub-contractors and the closing date for receipt of applications is 23 June 1994. In the meantime tender documentation is being finalised and it is intented that a contract will be placed for the project later in the year.
