Ceist:119 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications if he has been notified of proposals from CIE to increase fares for schoolchildren by 14 per cent; and his views on this proposal.

My Department has received from Córas Iompair Éireann an application for a general fares increase, to include schoolchildren's fares. The application is being considered in the Department at present and a decision will be announced in due course.
